2013 Dacia Lodgy

2013 Dacia Lodgy - The Dacia Lodgy Glace is the rebellious little sibling of the new family road car that is launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 03 2012! The name itself evokes thoughts of generous interior space and a family world. However, thanks to its audacious character and record of rising to the craziest sporting challenges, Dacia has decided to make its third Trophée Andros campaign truly exceptional by reworking all the rules. For the first time in the history of the Trophée Andros, the series will feature an MPV. To spice up the new season, not just one but two Lodgy Glace entries will be on the grid for every race: one will be driven by Alain Prost, who finished as runner-up in the 2010 and 2011 Trophée Andros, at the wheel of a Dacia Duster Glace. The other Lodgy Glace will be shared by his son, Nicolas Prost and Evens Stievenart, Alain Prost’s team-mate and joint winner of last winter’s Superfinal at the Stade de France, Paris, france.

2013 Dacia Lodgy - The new Dacia Lodgy MPV has been introduced two months ahead of its official world debut at the Geneva motor show. Available as a five- or seven-seat MPV, the Lodgy MPV is the latest addition to the growing model are the Renault-owned Romanian brand. The line-up already includes the Duster crossover, Sandero and Sandero Stepway supermini and Logan saloon, seven-seat estate, vehicle and pick-up.

Few technical details of the Dacia Lodgy MPV have been issued, apart from the fact it is 4500mm long. The name hails from the word ‘lodge’ and, according to Dacia, makes reference to the model’s ability to comfortably accommodate a family and its suitcases.

Renault UK has yet to decide whether to bring right-hand-drive versions of the Lodgy MPV to these shores, but it’s possible that the model could join the Duster and all-new Sandero after their January 2013 launches. The Duster and Sandero, which will be sold through Renault UK dealers, are expected to be offered with a 1. 6-litre petrol and 1. 5-litre diesel motors, and the Lodgy MPV could get the same powerplants.

To promote the Lodgy MPV, Dacia has created this 355bhp, four-wheel-drive, ice-racing version, which has been driven by Formula 1 legend Alain Prost in the Andros Trophy series. If it does come to The british isles, expect the Lodgy MPV to follow the wallet-friendly pricing scheme set by the manufacturer’s other products. It should be pitched substantially below the £17k asking price of opponents such as the Renault Scenic and Citroën C4 Picasso.
